IFI Auction Depot Purchase Now Booth

Buyers

Our weekly auctions are held almost every Saturday and Sunday in several locations throughout the Northeast, so you need not travel very far to come see us - we'll come to you. From Boston, MA to Buffalo, NY to Philadelphia, PA - with regular monthly auctions in Fairfield County, Westchester County, and Long Island – IFI is dedicated to serving the needs of our valued clients wherever you may be. If you are new to IFI - or auctions in general - take this opportunity to review some basic information, but don’t worry, we pride ourselves on our auctions being informative, relaxed, and fun.

How It Works

Our auctions are free to enter. We never charge a fee to look around, ask questions, or register to bid; so feel free to check us out. If you are intending to bid, you must register on the day of the auction by agreeing to a standard contract and a numbered paddle will be assigned to you for that weekend.

Our auctions are by request; so only the items requested during the preview period (usually 1 hour prior to the auction) will be brought to the auction block. You are under no obligation to bid, but this way you'll see the item come to the auction block. This way, since each auction features approximately 5,000 individual lots to choose from, nobody has to sit through hundreds of items no bidder has interest in before getting to that one that would look perfect in your home.

Once the auction begins, the auctioneer will announce each selected item in random order as it is physically brought to the front. To place a bid, simply raise your hand or your paddle and the auctioneer will note your bid. If you win that item, the auctioneer will call it sold, announce the hammer price and your paddle number. That's it!

Our auction items typically sell in 1 of 5 ways-
Standard Auction Item: The great majority of our auction items are this type. They are requested during one of our weekly auction preview periods and requires two bids or more to go to sale. While there is no set minimum, a reasonable offer must be made.

Absolute Auction Item: An absolute item requires two bids or more to go to sale, but absolutely no reason is required. Bring just $5 or $50 or $100; you can always find something to practically steal.

Reserve Auction Item: This item has a reserve (a price below which the item cannot sell) of which you will be notified immediately. A single bid at the reserve price is all that is needed for item to sell.

Purchase Now Option: NEW! For those who can't wait until the next auction, all the items in our IFI Auction Depot at 614 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT are available for immediate purchase.

Or Best Offer (OBO) Option: NEW! A silent auction-style option. Ask for details.

Guarantees

IFI carefully inspects each of our lots and stands behind everything we sell 100%.  Any item that sells for more than $1,000 will automatically receive an IFI Insurance Evalution Certificate in the mail within 4 to 6 weeks.
